What is Invisalign for Teens?

While most teens love the idea of picking colours for their braces, and having the ability to change these colours every time they come in to see us, some teens want their braces to be INVISIBLE!

Invisalign clear aligners are custom-made aligners designed to straighten your teeth and give you that million-dollar smile you've always wanted! They are an invisible way to straighten your teeth without the restrictions that come with traditional braces.

What makes Invisalign for Teens different from regular Invisalign?

To make sure you’re getting the most out of your orthodontic treatment, Invisalign Teen has a built-in assurance indicator; each aligner has blue buttons that fade over time when used as directed, so that Dr. Gawlik can track your compliance.

How often do I need to wear my aligners?

You will need to wear your aligners all the time, except when eating and brushing, of course! You’ll also need to WEAR YOUR ELASTICS! Ask us for our very popular multi-coloured elastics to jazz things up a little! You can mix and match the colours for a customized look each time! When you wear your elastics as instructed, your treatment is completed significantly FASTER meaning less overall time in aligners! While wearing your aligners and elastics may seem annoying at times, try to keep the end result in mind: healthy, straight teeth to last a lifetime!

Why should I choose Invisalign?

Invisalign is removable, so you can play sports without worry of being hit in the mouth by a ball, which can cause real damage if wearing braces. You can also continue playing musical instruments properly, without braces getting in the way. With braces, there is a list of foods you shouldn't eat, like popcorn, apples, raw carrots, etc. With Invisalign, there are no such restrictions. Just remove the aligners when eating and pop them back in when you’re done!

What if I don’t like Invisalign?

Invisalign offers the Invisalign Teen Guarantee. If within the first six months of treatment you decide that Invisalign isn’t working out, you have the option to switch to wires and brackets.

How often do I need to come into the office?

Invisalign Teen often requires less time at Mississauga Orthodontics or Six Points Orthodontics than traditional braces do. There are no adjustments to make and no broken wires to fix. After the initial appointment, follow-up appointments are usually scheduled every eight to ten weeks.

Am I a good candidate for Invisalign for Teens?

The ability to use Invisalign Teen depends on the severity of your condition and can only be determined by Dr. Gawlik. At your consultation visit, Dr. Gawlik will sit down with you and your parents to discuss the pros and cons of Invisalign Teen as it pertains to your specific case. We are pretty good at figuring out who would make a great candidate for Invisalign Teen, and who would fare better with traditional braces!
