Meet Dr. Monica Gawlik

MONICA GAWLIK, DDS, MSC, FRCD(C)

Dr. Monica Gawlik began her formal education at the University of Toronto, Trinity College, where she earned a specialist degree in Physiology and an additional major in Human Biology. She continued on to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery with Honours from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. Dr. Gawlik completed her postgraduate orthodontic training at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, while simultaneously earning a Master of Science in clinical research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Additionally, she received the Dental Alumni Association Award and the Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award for outstanding leadership in improving local communities.

Dr. Gawlik maintained a clinical teaching role as an Orthodontic Instructor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry after graduation. She is certified by Invisalign® and the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and has completed courses with the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. She is a fellow of The Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

By blending personalized orthodontic care at each visit with the latest technology, Dr. Gawlik’s goal is to produce excellent results in the shortest time possible. Her focus is on treatment individually tailored to children and adults of all ages, that often avoids the removal of permanent teeth. She is very comfortable treating children with special needs, including those with Down Syndrome, autism and ADHD.

Patients at Six Points Orthodontics and Mississauga Orthodontics see Dr. Gawlik every time they come in for an appointment. This ensures that patients’ treatments are overseen by a Specialist every step of the way and results are optimized in time and quality.

Born and raised in Etobicoke, Dr. Gawlik attended St. George’s, Broadacres, John G. Althouse, and Martingrove C.I. She returned to her hometown after completing her studies in NYC and is happy to be raising her three children here.

When she’s not seeing patients, she enjoys long-distance running, boating, paddleboarding, and all water sports.

Dr. Monica is passionate about giving back to and strengthening the community. She actively supports many children’s charities, especially the Hospital for Sick Children.
